I finished a self-portrait thing. For life drawing he wanted one, but apparently it wasn't meant to be worked on intensely so I just set this one for a later date (the day after lol) and finished it then.
If someone finds and gets me that sweater, oh shit, that would be freaking awessssssummmmme (sings).
Or something like it, haha.
Also I really need to learn how to do backgrounds the thing besides the line hill things are bad =_=

Alisseth
Alisseth is the combination of names from a story that I am writing with a friend, Danielle K from DeviantArt.
Aliss Weiss is my character, a human born with two minds; her and her sister (twins) Aleksandra Van Den Claer share the same body, fighting over the controls. Aliss the more dominant meets Seth, an obnoxious vampire from the Renaissance period at a local night club. Totally disgusted by him she avoids him like the plague. Interested by the chase Seth goes after her, only for her to be drugged randomly leaving Seth responsible for her.
She wakes up at his apartment and a string of mishaps and fated meetings occur. He learns of her childhood faced with abuse, her mental blocks and inability to show physical affection without going into a spaztic fit; more importantly her onset blood thirst. Ironic that she thirst for blood without the curse of the Night; Seth embarks on trying to understand himself, this feeling stirring within him and the potential to feel close to being alive in this girl who is fascinated with death and beyond it.
When an accident causes Aliss to lose her memories of anything negative in her life, the return of Aleksandra causes problems for Seth who learns that leaving Aliss was the first wrong move and he daren't make it again; not when a thousand year old vampire who has a special interest in Seth challenges the relationship that is still a bud. Bouncing from Aliss and Aleksandra's mind power struggle Seth is in the middle trying to love one and hate the other, staving off jealous exes, angry family members and the crazy person who turned him in the first place.
Seth's character is heavily relatable to the persona that Dorian Gray plays (a movie adaptation in 2009) coincidentally played by Ben Barnes who is the ˙human reference to what Seth would look like. Aliss is a mixture of Cristina Bazan and Avril Lavinge in some sense. Her personality is based off chippets of myself and the outer projection of myself in a space that I can control.
Here are some screenshots of an image I am working on:
(The idea is to work with one layer and work in unity. It began that way, the most layers I've done with this piece is 3 in which I step back and fix some problems by drawing on top then merging, so it essentially stays as one!)
Gathering the references fr colouring, likeness and pose.
Aeth's a vampire but I find I made him too dark. Must work on making him more... etherealy in a moon-like glow.

Spent a couple hours triying to figure out Seth's body position, I ended up making the canvas about twice its size originally,
Didn't like the face I did for her, so I went back to the beginning and took the cheekchin area and reworked it.

For Now, We Are Friends
Been a while, here's what I'm working on! It's a collaborative story writing (role playing) character piece. It's about Princess Amaralise of the North who is going to be married to Prince Luca of the South so that her kingdom can be saved from debt and other terrible tricky things. There's lots of things going on but I love the two characters to bits. Luca belongs to my partner, and Amaralise to myself. Enjoy!
June 16 - Adding in colour schemes since I just wasn't diggin what I had! I had a theory to do seasons, this is what I got!

LOLOLOL.
JUST FOR FUN, I'll do a preview of what I'm drawing right now and lol the left is the one I started for that character design artist assignment, and here I am now trying to make it a little better on the left!
And finished "Rocalana"
It's very much Loish inspired. Bubble gum pinks and such but I think this is mine. I'm growing into a workflow that help express what I want in a drawing, what I want to show the world. Hopefully things are making an impression to you and I both.
Thanks to http://kelkith.deviantart.com/ for his metal texture that pulled this entire thing together.

Speed Painting
Tried to do something without really doing an outline, like I always do. Was a lot of fun to be creative and just find the edges hard and soft in the face. It was so much fun I ended up staying really late doing it but it only took an hour and a half.

Finished Girl's Wallpaper
So I finally finish all four girl's that I had started out to do. I may do some more, but who the heck knows! For now here's some of the ladies of League that rock our worlds. Enjoy the abs, butts and pretty beach hair duh!
All characters are under the copyright of Riot Inc and are only personal renditions of Ahri, Vayne, Caitlyn and Lux.
Cheers,
I'll try to get better for the next time.

League Drawing Update
Working steadily on this piece, Ahri, Vayne, Caitlyn and Lux. Oh these ladies. I actually don't really played Vayne and Ahri as much but if I don't play Lux or Cait I play those two...? Lol about 2/100 chance that happens. But I think I may have played Ezreal more than that. I'm like a 2 trick pony haha, anyways done in photoshop. Trying different styles to get better. This one focuses bright colours and bold black lines.

30 Second Film
Well I ended up making one anyways and here it is. Lol definitely slapped together the idea but I think it works out. There's two versions, one with cuts and one without I'll post them both but I like the one with no cuts better as I animated it in that way but then again it could be very boring. It's still only 30 seconds? I don't know probably better if I did cut more purposeful places? Still, weirdly enough first long length film?

Power of the Word and Silence
Going through Facebook, I find the faces of people that I know. Not well, but not so little that I remove them from my friends list. They are the people that with only about 1000 words or less have had some of the most natural conversations ever. It's a great feeling/thought of how we are all connected.
And randomly, this is could be a sick third or fourth year film concept/theme. The power of what is said, thought and telepathically shared; the power of wordlessly communicating.

Testing Tides
Painting we are to take an excerpt out of a book that describes a room and create an interior space for it. I chose "Clockwork Angel" by Cassandra Clare, a teen fiction novel. This is my passage:
"Tessa rose to her feet, glancing around the small room that had been her prison cell for six weeks. It was smaller, with flowered wallpaper, and sparsely finished- a plain deal table with a white lace cloth over it where she ate her meals; and the narrow brass bed where she slept; the cracked washstand and porcelain jug for her ablutions; the window sill where she stacked her books and the small chair where she sat each night and wrote letters to her brother - letters she knew she could never send., letts she kept hidden under her mattress where the Dark Sisters would not find them. It was er way of keeping a diary and assuring her self, somehow that she would see Nate again someday and be able to give them to him.
She crossed the room to the mirror that hung against the far wall, and smoothed down her hair. The dark Sister, as they in fact wished to be call preferred her not to loo messy. Although they didn't appear to mind her appearance one way or the other past that - which was fortunate, because her refection made her wine. There was the pale oval of her face dominated by her hollow gray eyes - a shadowed face without colour its cheeks or hope in its expression. she ore unflattering black school marmish dress that the sisters have given her once she arrived; her trunk had never followed despite their promises; and now this is the only piece of clothing she owned. She looked away quietly."

Some preliminary colour theory and symbolism ideas in sketchbook for this project. |
So I fiddled around with a painting on photoshop. I did an underlay
gouache base in a water colour type effect on recycled brown paper. I
have paint chip strips on the side to help with the colour palette.
Through the use of layering, masking and adding in texture screens, I
was able to transform an idea into a more thoughtful piece. I might not
be done yet, and might adjust things, but here is the original.

Grayscale, monochromatic, and normal colouring sections. |

Work in progress, modifying the space to have more contrast. I worked with colour burning, on midtones @ 60-70%, |

Painting Set-Up
4 Water Bowls, 2 Palette Plates, 1 Brush Cointainer, 2 paper towels. Just to paint, lol. But it worked out really well.
My painting was Mulan's bedroom when she was painting the characters on her arm for the matching lady, so I took a picture of my dolly inspiration. My camera was too funny, it said that Snow White blinked.

Had a snazzy flash animation party at my house last Friday evening with Justine and Chris, and this was mah dinna. Yum rainbow trout seasoned with mayonaise and onion mix to taste. :) And I used Aaron's plate he bought for his shoot for deserts :D haha it worked out. Felt so nice to make dinner look wicked.

let there be light
So to barely hide my excitement 4 amazing pieces of news.
a. One of my hands and feet pages got featured on the wall in the A-Wing, what an honor!
b. I scored a lovely 73 in life drawing, getting only better, pumped!
c. I scored a AMAZINGLY LOVELY, 80 on my hands and feet. That's an A. In Mark.... freaking Thurman's class. I did something good. I am so happy and proud of my work, -bounce bounce bounce-
d. Finally, I have an awesome family that put this together for me! Helping my animation dreams come true with sleepless nights :)
I had drawing table that raised on an angle, we bought the disk, and then my uncle ripped off the original table and bought a new board, cut a hole and then secured everything into place. The light is from when Sheridan was giving away those animation desks. We just took the light holder and the bulbs lol.
