Life Drawing Portfolio Sem 2

Lately I had been uncomfortable with life drawing, feeling no sense of improvement and losing that will to try harder in it. I can remember feeling the conte and then not knowing really what I was doing with it. I would make scratched on the page that didn't really connect or express what I wanted to capture. Oddly enough, I had a better go at it after taking a break and then consecutively going to extra life for four days. it was just a weird culmination of my sketching and letting myself believe in what the conte could do for me rather than what I could make it do for me. I hadn't taken the time to get to know the conte.

By no means did I become some life dawing prodigy, but I definitely found myself doing better when I wasn't going after a really awesome drawing. I got what I was looking for when I by chance stopping adhering to the 1 minute sketches and just repeated the same pose again and again. Then when I woke from my stupor and tried a new pose something better came out.

I think just trying to make every drawing so good messed me up hard. In a backwards sense, I think I came to like life drawing again when I saw this portfolio finished. There's a lot of very talented people in my program, and I know that they work really hard studying the human form. I forgot how nice it is. Goal for third year? Actually go to extra life a little more. Maybe not my outrageous goal of 3-4 times a week, but more like 1 or 2. I need to make better use of my time.

And then a sketch I liked in the new small book I bought. What am I doing, buying 5 sketchbooks at the end of the year. Like I am going to be able to fill them all in 4 months.... Well, there's a challenge.

lades in a dress, but which dress indeed

Top two were submitted for the life drawing drapery assignment, but I rather am fond of the last one. Something elegant about it.  I am happy with this from life drawing - if only my under structure of these would be like the ones I do inclass for the session >_>

Life Bone Port

I pulled an all-night, had to bascically redraw all the half-assed drawings I made during the semester but I did it, I made everything worked haha. I also felt better than Umar also pulled an all-nighter too so I wasn't alone in this last minute shenanigans.... NEVER DO IT AGAIN. I have never lost so much sleep. It's a life lesson, don't slackkkkkk. I never used to, but hey always good for first times right..... right?

Anyways my bone portfolio! The majority of it got on the wall so I am SUPA SUPA SUPA proud and pleased with myself. Thank you Mark Thurman, the mark you gave me is helping making my Christmas season MEGA ENJOYABLE!

I based my presentation off Nylon Magazine and at first it was going to be a "stone age" issue but I kind of forgot as I was designing so things like the "marbelous" isn't because I can't spell, its because it's "marble", like rocks... lol

FACT: The skull on the right side is the same exact skull, just I used
photoshop to rotate a clipped mandible!

FACT: This girl's face was take off the internet, and get it VERNA RAE sounds like
VERTEBRAE? EH, EH?

FACT: For non Sheridan students, mar thurwoman is a play on names for our life drawing teacher,
Mark Thurman. Some of the things mentioned are real facts about him. He has been drawing for
50 years and he did attend OCAD, Ontario College of Arts and Design. I chose a personal
trainer because that's like a teacher too right?

Sadly, no time for me to draw the fashionable pieces before the deadline...
FACT: My boyfriend Aaron is a Sheridan photography student and took this photo a year ago,
this is also one of the pages on the wall.

So as you can see this whole portfolio is filled with cheese and punny puns, at least they are too me!

H2T Modelling!

My smart ass title pages, simple with design. Quick and easy.

Hands and Feet portfolio stuff for Life Drawing! Some are obviously better than others. All the single feet drawings are ... weird. I like the doubled ones more.
