Alisseth

Alisseth is the combination of names from a story that I am writing with a friend, Danielle K from DeviantArt.

Aliss Weiss is my character, a human born with two minds; her and her sister (twins) Aleksandra Van Den Claer share the same body, fighting over the controls. Aliss the more dominant meets Seth, an obnoxious vampire from the Renaissance period at a local night club. Totally disgusted by him she avoids him like the plague. Interested by the chase Seth goes after her, only for her to be drugged randomly leaving Seth responsible for her.

She wakes up at his apartment and a string of mishaps and fated meetings occur. He learns of her childhood faced with abuse, her mental blocks and inability to show physical affection without going into a spaztic fit; more importantly her onset blood thirst. Ironic that she thirst for blood without the curse of the Night; Seth embarks on trying to understand himself, this feeling stirring within him and the potential to feel close to being alive in this girl who is fascinated with death and beyond it.

When an accident causes Aliss to lose her memories of anything negative in her life, the return of Aleksandra causes problems for Seth who learns that leaving Aliss was the first wrong move and he daren't make it again; not when a thousand year old vampire who has a special interest in Seth challenges the relationship that is still a bud. Bouncing from Aliss and Aleksandra's mind power struggle Seth is in the middle trying to love one and hate the other, staving off jealous exes, angry family members and the crazy person who turned him in the first place.

Seth's character is heavily relatable to the persona that Dorian Gray plays (a movie adaptation in 2009) coincidentally played by Ben Barnes who is the ˙human reference to what Seth would look like. Aliss is a mixture of Cristina Bazan and Avril Lavinge in some sense. Her personality is based off chippets of myself and the outer projection of myself in a space that I can control.

Here are some screenshots of an image I am working on:
(The idea is to work with one layer and work in unity. It began that way, the most layers I've done with this piece is 3 in which I step back and fix some problems by drawing on top then merging, so it essentially stays as one!)
Gathering the references fr colouring, likeness and pose.

Spent a couple hours triying to figure out Seth's body position, I ended up making the canvas about twice its size originally,
Didn't like the face I did for her, so I went back to the beginning and took the cheekchin area and reworked it.
Aeth's a vampire but I find I made him too dark. Must work on making him more... etherealy in a moon-like glow.
