A Lesson or Two

Master Copy Assignment, I went with the vintage items theme.

Things to work on: Don't be afraid to make some goddamn shadows. Apparently it doesn't hurt anyone to make things a bit darker. As I've learned they do help with form. Sometimes its just so scary to put such a dark gray on a page! Then again, you can paint over gouache so really, I should haven't been such a wuss about it. Next time, next time, really going to push the darks in a scene!

 I retouched it in Photoshop just to see what it would have looked like had I went deeper in tones and done the things Florian had suggested that would have improved the painting.

The result. Agreed. Just in the small upload thumb it looked more interesting and appealing to view than the first one !
